1. Who we are
Postrise is an Android app published by EazyLife Tech Solutions ("we", "us"). It plans a day of YouTube Shorts per channel: the user picks times, images and audio, and the app writes titles, descriptions, hashtags and tags, makes the Short and schedules it. It is used by the channel owner, and is not offered to the public.
You agree to this policy by using Postrise. Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, we are the data fiduciary only for data that reaches us. Postrise has no server, so that is only what you send us by email, and the email address used to invite you to a test build.
2. YouTube API Services
Postrise uses YouTube API Services. By using Postrise you are also bound by the YouTube Terms of Service. Google handles what it receives under the Google Privacy Policy.
3. What Postrise reads and sends
You sign in to Postrise with your Google account, and each YouTube channel is then connected by signing in with Google in a browser tab. Postrise never sees your Google password.
| Google permission | What Postrise does with it | Data involved |
|---|---|---|
openid, email, profile | Signs you in, and shows which Google account the backups belong to | Received from Google and kept on the phone only: the account's email and name |
drive.appdata | Stores and restores backups in a hidden folder that belongs to Postrise in your Google Drive. It can't see, open or change your other Drive files | Sent to and read from that folder: the backup described in section 4 |
youtube.upload | Uploads each Short to the channel and schedules it | Sent to YouTube: the video, title, description, hashtags, tags and publish time |
youtube.readonly | Reads the channel's name and handle, to show which channel is connected | Received from YouTube and kept: the channel's ID, name and handle |
Google words youtube.readonly as read access to the YouTube account, which is wider than what Postrise uses. Postrise uses it only as described above.
Postrise's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Google user data is used only for the features described here. It is not used for advertising, and it is not sold. It stays on your phone and in your own Google account, and doesn't reach us. We would read it only if you asked us to, or where security or the law requires it.
4. Where data is stored
Postrise has no server, and it doesn't use Firebase Authentication or Firestore. Your data is in two places: your phone, and your own Google Drive.
On your phone
| Data | Where | Protection |
|---|---|---|
| YouTube sign-in (refresh) tokens | A private app file, kept out of backups | AES-GCM encrypted under an Android Keystore key |
| Your Google account's email and name | The app's private settings. Not in backups | Android's app sandbox |
| Channels: YouTube channel ID, name and handle, plus the topics, keywords, languages and closing line you set | A private app file | Android's app sandbox |
| Plans and schedules: titles, descriptions, tags, times and statuses | The same file | Android's app sandbox |
| Images and audio you add, with audio details such as rights labels and marked sections | The app's storage | Android's app sandbox |
| Settings: theme and active channel | The app's private settings | Android's app sandbox |
In your own Google Drive
Once you sign in, Postrise backs up your channels, including their YouTube channel ID, name and handle, your plans, schedules and keywords, your audio details and your settings. It runs in the background, about once a day and when the data changes. The image and audio files themselves are not in the backup.
- The backup goes to a hidden app folder in your Drive (
drive.appdata). Postrise reaches only its own folder there. - Postrise keeps the newest two backups. They count toward your Drive storage.
- Backups have no extra encryption beyond Google's own, so anyone who gets into your Google account could read them.
- YouTube sign-in tokens are never in backups. After a reinstall, each channel has to reconnect once.
5. How data is used and shared
Postrise uses this data only to plan, write, make and schedule Shorts for the connected channel. Titles, descriptions, hashtags and tags are written on the phone from templates, and are not sent to an AI service.
- External parties: Google, as described in sections 3 and 4. We may also disclose data if the law requires it.
- Internal parties: we have no server and don't receive your app data. We receive only what you email us.
- Never: we don't sell data, share it with advertisers or data brokers, or use it for advertising or credit decisions.
6. Your device and cookies
Postrise stores and reads information on your phone, as listed in section 4. The app has no advertising, analytics or crash-reporting SDK, and it does not let third parties serve ads or other content in the app.
| Android permission | Why |
|---|---|
| Internet | Google sign-in, YouTube and Drive backups |
| Network state, keep the device awake, run after restart, foreground service | Running background Drive backups through Android's WorkManager |
| Biometrics and fingerprint | Listed by a library that Google's sign-in brings in. Postrise doesn't use them and never receives fingerprint data |
The YouTube sign-in page opens in a browser tab, where Google's own cookies and policies apply. This website sets no cookies and loads nothing from other sites. Its host, Cloudflare, handles basic technical request data in order to serve the pages.
7. Who processes data
Google LLC provides Google sign-in, YouTube and Google Drive, and delivers test builds of the app through Firebase App Distribution, which uses the email address of each person invited to test. See the Google Privacy Policy.
8. How long data is kept
- YouTube sign-in tokens: until you disconnect the channel or uninstall the app, or until Google refuses the token.
- Google account email and name: until you sign out or uninstall the app.
- Everything else on the phone: until you uninstall the app.
- Backups in your Drive: the newest two, until you remove them (section 9). Uninstalling the app or signing out doesn't remove them.
- Support emails: up to 24 months after the conversation ends, unless you ask us to delete them.
What disconnecting does today: Disconnect revokes that channel's access at Google and removes its token from the phone. It does not remove the channel's ID, name, handle or plans. They stay on the phone until you uninstall the app, and in your Drive backups until you remove them. The same applies if you revoke access on Google's page.
Security: connections to Google use HTTPS, and YouTube sign-in tokens are encrypted as described in section 4.
9. Your choices and rights
- Revoke access: besides our normal way of deleting stored data, you can revoke Postrise's access to your data at any time on the Google security settings page, myaccount.google.com/
permissions . - Disconnect in the app: Disconnect on the Channel screen revokes that channel's access at Google and removes its token from the phone.
- Sign out: signing out stops backups. Your data stays on the phone and on Drive.
- Remove backups: Google Drive › Settings › Manage apps › Postrise › Delete hidden app data. The app has no delete control of its own yet.
- Delete data: follow the steps on Delete your Postrise data. If you ask us by email, we delete what we hold, which is your emails and any test-build invitation address, within 7 calendar days. We can't reach the data on your phone or in your Drive. None of this affects anything stored on YouTube.
- Access and correction: your data is visible and editable in the app. Email us for a copy of anything we hold.
- Nominate a person to exercise your rights if you die or become unable to act.
- Complain to us (section 12). If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
10. Children
Postrise isn't directed at children under 18, and we don't knowingly collect their data.
11. Changes
If we change how Postrise handles data, we'll update this page and the date at the top, and ask you to agree to the updated policy before the new use begins.
